GIRLxGIRL envisions a world where all LBQ women are free to live authentically and safely, with equal rights and opportunities.
Our Story

GIRLxGIRL is a pioneering organization based in Thailand dedicated to empowering lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) women and advocating for their rights. Founded in 2021, GIRLxGIRL has become a prominent voice in Southeast Asia's LGBTQ+ rights movement. Our initiatives focus on fostering community, promoting advocacy, and educating the public. We prioritize creating safe spaces and offering support through activities such as regular peer support groups and our flagship event, GIRL Talks, which amplifies LBQ voices and experiences. Advocacy efforts include leading campaigns for legal reforms and raising awareness through public forums and workshops. We also prioritize education and capacity-building with workshops on human rights and leadership training. Internationally, we engage in conferences like the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) to advocate for LBQ rights globally. Through digital outreach via social media and content creation, including podcasts and videos, we amplify LBQ voices and challenge stereotypes. GIRLxGIRL is committed to creating a more inclusive society where LBQ individuals can thrive and live authentically.

Social Impact

GIRLxGIRL has achieved significant milestones in advancing LBQ rights and empowerment in Thailand and beyond. One notable success story is our advocacy for gender equality and legal reforms. In collaboration with the Rainbow Coalition for Marriage Equality, we mobilized 362,000 signatures in support of the proposed Act for Amendment to the Civil and Commercial Code in Thailand. This grassroots campaign led to increased awareness and public discourse on marriage equality, challenging societal norms and paving the way for legislative change.

Additionally, GIRLxGIRL's educational initiatives have made a profound impact. Through our weekly Twitter Space discussions, we have reached over 9,000 participants, facilitating dialogue on LGBTQ+ rights, gender-based violence, and civil rights. Our annual GIRL Talks event, the largest queer women's gathering in Thailand, has grown in attendance and influence, attracting hundreds of participants both in-person and online. These events serve as platforms for empowerment, education, and solidarity-building within the LBQ community.

Moreover, our international engagements, such as participation in the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and other global forums, have amplified LBQ voices on the global stage. We have leveraged these platforms to advocate for policy reforms and raise awareness about the unique challenges faced by LBQ individuals in Southeast Asia.
