องค์กรพิทักษ์สัตว์แห่งโลก ประเทศไทย ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี 1950 ในชื่อ The World Federation for the Protection of Animals (WFPA) is formed และได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น World Animal Protection ในปี 2014 เป็นองค์กรไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร ที่ทำงานเพื่อแก้ไขปัญหาสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ระดับโลก จากปัญหาที่ว่าในทุกวันสัตว์ทั่วโลกต่างต้องเผชิญกับความทุกข์ทรมานแสนสาหัส จึงเลือกแก้ไขที่ต้นตอของปัญหาสัตว์ถูกทารุณกรรมเพื่อเปลี่ยนแปลงให้สัตว์มีชีวิตความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีขึ้น เราต้องการเปลี่ยนวิถีโลก และวิธีการที่ปฏิบัติต่อสัตว์ในฟาร์มและสัตว์ป่า ระบบผลิตอาหารกำลังล้มเหลว การทำฟาร์มปศุสัตว์เชิงอุตสาหกรรมเป็นเหตุผลสำคัญที่ทำให้สัตว์ทั่วโลกต้องเผชิญกับความทุกข์ทรมาน สัตว์ในฟาร์มต้องถูกกักขังในสภาพแวดล้อมโหดร้าย ในขณะเดียวกัน สัตว์ป่าทั่วโลกกลับถูกมองเป็นเพียงสินค้าชนิดหนึ่ง และถูกพรากจากป่าเพื่อนำเข้าสู่อุตสาหกรรม ซึ่งไม่เพียงแค่ส่งผลเสียต่อสวัสดิภาพของสัตว์ป่าเท่านั้น แต่ยังก่อให้เกิดความเสี่ยงต่อสุขอนามัยของมนุษย์และโลกของเรา เราจึงมีการทำงานผ่าน 14 ประเทศทั่วโลก ครอบคลุมทั้งหมด 5 ทวีป เป้าหมายการทำงานของเรา คือ เพื่อปกป้องคุ้มครองสัตว์ และยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตสัตว์ทุกตัว

สตีฟ แม็คไอวอร์ (Steve McIvor) ดำรงตำแหน่งประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารแห่งองค์กรพิทักษ์สัตว์แห่งโลกและผู้อำนวยการในโครงการต่างๆ ที่ครอบคลุมทั่วโลก (Global Director) มีประสบการณ์การทำงานที่หลากหลายทั้งด้านการดูแลสวัสดิภาพสัตว์ และการทำงานร่วมกับภาคส่วนต่างๆ มุ่งเน้นการดูแลสวัสดิภาพของสัตว์ และคาดหวังที่จะได้ทำงานร่วมกับทีมงานระดับโลกเพื่อช่วยกันยกระดับชีวิตของสัตว์ต่างๆ ทั่วโลก



The World Animal Protection Organization, Thailand, was established in 1950 under the name The World Federation for the Protection of Animals (WFPA) and later changed its name to World Animal Protection in 2014. This non-profit organization works to address global animal welfare issues. Every day, animals around the world face horrific suffering, so we have chosen to address the root cause of animal cruelty to improve their lives. We aim to change the world and the treatment of animals on farms and in the wild. The current food production system is failing. Industrial farming is a significant reason why animals globally are subjected to suffering. Farm animals are kept in cruel conditions, while wildlife around the world is merely viewed as a commodity and stripped from their habitats for industrial use. This negatively impacts the welfare of wild animals and poses risks to human health and our world. Therefore, we operate across 14 countries globally, spanning all five continents. Our mission is to protect and enhance the lives of all animals.

Steve McIvor, serving as the CEO of World Animal Protection and the Global Director for various programs, has diverse experiences in animal welfare and collaborative work with various sectors. He focuses on animal welfare and hopes to work with global teams to improve the lives of animals worldwide.

ในปี 2020 เพียงปีเดียว ได้ยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตสัตว์มากกว่า 1.2 พันล้านตัวทั่วโลก มีคนมากกว่า 1.1 พันล้านคน ร่วมลงชื่อผลักดันให้ผู้นำกลุ่มประเทศ G20 ยุติการค้าสัตว์ป่าทั่วโลกอย่างถาวร และประสบความสำเร็จในการผลักดันให้ผู้จำหน่ายอาหาร ซุปเปอร์มาร์เก็ต และผู้ผลิตอาหาร ปรับเปลี่ยนแนวทางการเลี้ยงไก่ในฟาร์มจำนวนกว่า 764 ล้านตัว พร้อมเปิดตัวสารคดีชื่อ "Fooled by a smile" ที่เผยเบื้องหลังการบังคับใช้โลมาในอุตสาหกรรมบันเทิงให้แก่ผู้ชมกว่า 1.5 ล้านคน



Having worked to protect animals for over 55 years, we have pushed governments, multinational companies, various organizations, and more than 558,000 individuals to support the end of animal cruelty. Furthermore, we have successfully caused TripAdvisor and more than 200 tour companies to stop promoting tourist spots that harm elephants.

In just 2020 alone, we have improved the lives of more than 1.2 billion animals worldwide. Over 1.1 billion people have joined us in urging the G20 leaders to permanently end the global wildlife trade. We have successfully persuaded food suppliers, supermarkets, and food producers to change their chicken farming practices, affecting over 764 million chickens. We also launched the documentary "Fooled by a Smile", revealing the behind-the-scenes coercion of dolphins in the entertainment industry, reaching over 1.5 million viewers.
