มูลนิธิช่วยชีวิตสัตว์ป่าแห่งประเทศไทย ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี 1992 เป็นองค์กรไม่แสวงหาผลกำไร ที่รณรงค์ ต่อต้าน ป้องกันการล่าและทารุณสัตว์ป่า ช่วยเหลือสัตว์ โดยเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งสัตว์ป่าที่พิการหรือถูกทารุน ไม่ว่าด้วยวิธีการใดๆ ให้กลับมามีชีวิตใกล้เคียงกับธรรมชาติ และจัดหาความช่วยเหลือและคำแนะนำจากผู้เชี่ยวชาญทั้งในประต่างประเทศ เพื่อฝึกสัตว์ป่ารวมทั้งลูกสัตว์ป่าให้ช่วยเหลือตัวเองได้ จนสามารถกลับไปใช้ชีวิตในป่าได้ดังเดิม

พรเพ็ญ สอนเสริม พยัคฆาภรณ์ น.สพ. ชิษณุ ติยะเจริญศรี และ สุประดิษฐ์ กัณห์วานิช ผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งมูลนิธิช่วยชีวิตสัตว์ป่าแห่งประเทศไทย ทุกอย่างได้เริ่มต้นจากความรัก ความสงสารและความอยากที่จะช่วยเหลือสัตว์ป่า ซึ่งในยุคนั้นสัตว์ป่าได้ถูกล่าและนำมาขายอย่างเกลื่อนกลาดตามตลาดมืดทั่วประเทศ เป็นยุคทองของการล่าสัตว์ป่าในไทย ซากชิ้นส่วนสัตว์ป่าและที่ยังมีชีวิตอยู่สามารถพบเห็นได้อย่างง่ายดาย เนื่องจากยังไม่มีกฎหมายที่เกี่ยวกับการสงวนและคุ้มครองสัตว์ป่าขึ้น จึงได้มีความคิดจัดตั้ง และแปลงสนามหลังบ้านเล็กๆ ใจกลางถนนสุขุมวิท ซึ่งสมัยนั้นยังเป็นทุ่งนาอยู่ให้เป็น ศูนย์พิทักษ์สัตว์ป่า เพื่อใช้เป็นที่ช่วยเหลือและเลี้ยงดูสัตว์ป่าที่ได้ช่วยเหลือมา



Wildlife Saving Foundation of Thailand was established in 1992 as a non-profit organization that advocates against hunting and cruelty to wildlife. Its main goal is to assist and rescue animals, particularly injured or abused wildlife, and provide them with the opportunity to return to a life close to their natural habitat. The foundation seeks assistance and guidance from experts both locally and internationally to rehabilitate both adult and young wildlife, enabling them to regain their independence and reintegrate into the wild.

Phromphun Sonthong, Chaisan Tiyacharoenchit, and Supradit Kanchavanich, the founders of Wildlife Saving Foundation of Thailand, initiated this endeavor out of their love, compassion, and desire to help wildlife. During that time, wildlife was being hunted and traded clandestinely throughout the country, resulting in the widespread presence of wildlife carcasses and living creatures. With the absence of laws protecting and conserving wildlife, it was a golden age for hunting in Thailand. In response, they conceptualized and transformed a small backyard into a wildlife rescue center, located on Sukhumvit Road in the midst of what used to be rice fields. The center aimed to provide assistance and care to the rescued wildlife.

โครงการของมูลนิธิ

• โครงการร่วมอนุรักษ์เต่าทะเลจังหวัดระนอง: สร้างคลินิกสัตว์ทะเล-สัตว์ป่า และบ่ออนุบาลขนาดมาตรฐาน เพื่อช่วยชีวิตและฟื้นฟูเต่าทะเลที่เจ็บป่วย เกยตื้น การบาดเจ็บ ก่อนปล่อยคืนสู่ทะเลต่อไป
• เป็นโครงการแรกที่มีการพยายามฝึกพฤติกรรมชะนีให้กลับคืนสู่ป่าได้ จนประสบความสำเร็จมากที่สุดในโลก มีการคืนชะนีมือขาวในภาคใต้ของไทยจนสามารถออกลูกออกหลานขยายพันธุ์ได้อีกครั้งในพื้นทีที่มันเคยถูกล่าจนสูญพันธุ์ไป นอกจากนี้ยังได้มีการเดินสายถ่ายทอดองค์ความรู้ให้หลายโครงการทั่วโลก รวมถึงอาสาสมัครที่สนใจมาแล้วหลายพันคน



Foundation's Projects:

• Sea Turtle Conservation Project in Ranong Province: Establishing a standardized marine and wildlife clinic and nursery pond to rescue and rehabilitate sick, injured, or stranded sea turtles before releasing them back into the ocean.
• Basic Gibbon Reintroduction Program: It's the first project that attempts to train gibbons to return to the wild, achieving the highest success in the world. White-handed gibbons have been reintroduced in the south of Thailand until they can reproduce again in an area where they were once hunted to extinction. In addition, knowledge has been passed on to many projects worldwide, including thousands of interested volunteers.
